I Freshman History '5N4'5S In the fell of 1957, fifty-three bssbful but determined freshmen entered into a somewhat dim and unliqnted future. After a few weeks, however, the way brifhtened, and we be- came adjusted to our new career of bien school life. We soon chose Vaughn Ven Dolan es leader of our class and Gladys Dun- lap and Lyle Vromen to assist him. Mr. McDaniel was chosen as our class sdviser. As the year sped on several class members took part in various activities. Arlene Ceroenter, Lucille Elliott, and Gladys Dunlap represented us in the girls chorus, :nd Ed- ward Johnston and Lyle Vroman were ective in basketball. Severn parties, given during the year, were well attended by the class. After a successful year of learning, the elses welcomed Vacation, but they looked forward to the next year when they would come back skein end take their places as sophomores . Q 5 4' y 'H Ladd- Ljeulxil 5 Sophomore History '58-'59 In September of 1958, fifty students came back to R.C.H.S. and enrolled as sophomores. Fourteen of the class had dis- continued tbeir work or were etteniing other schools, and nine new students enrolled. We bessn our study under the direction of two new teachers, Miss Pierce for English and Miss Remley for homemeking. After e few weeks we elected the followine class officers: Edward Johnston, president, Robert Dockcn, vice president, and Arlene Carpenter, secretary. Mr. McDaniel again acted as our class adviser. This year more of the clsss participated in eXtra-curric- ular activities. Robert Docken, Harold Baker, Iyle Vronsn, Edward Johnston, James Hawley, Allen Mueller, and Stewart Blaser played bssketbell. Edward Johnston played on the first team, end Vern Cauley acted as msnefer. Those girls who sane in the Girls Glee Club and Mixed Chorus were Martha Doonsn, Gladys Dunlap, Bonnie Fisher, Virginia Lemon, end Arlene Carpenter. Donald Duncan and Lyle Vromun represented the elses in boys music. Several of the sophomore girls belonged to the Girls Club.
