The Freshmen football team had a very excellent season, although their record didn 't show it, they played every team considerably tough. Potentially this team could do great things for Putnam. Two standouts were Danny Ruhl and Brian Pain. They were very stable and sound on offense and defense, with coaching help from Paul Mannen and Joel Football 0 99

J. V. FOOTBALL The J. V. football team had been very tough in the past, and proved it again this year, coming away with another winning season at 7- . Ray Brewster and Tim Deggendorfer received praise from Coach Chai, also he commented on the great leadership of the juniors who camj down from Varsity to play with them. Coach Brian Frietag added th dimension that the team was looking for, because of his excellent extra condi- tioning, preparation, and defensive coaching skills. 100 0 VARSITY VOLLEYBALL The Varsity Volleyball team had an interesting season. They had a very young team, and were lacking experience. Their record was 3-9, but they took second at the Canby Tournament and third at the St. Helens tourney. The K-gals were the only team to take West Linn to 3 games. Carolyn Gabory held the team together with great help from Susan Meyer, Kris Kamrath, and Shari Wright. Carolyn and Susan got honorable mention honors.
