Led by Ralph VOIE Q14-.9 ppgj, Curt Chandler Qllj, and Brad Miller Ql2.8j, the freshman team beat their opponents by an average of 15 points per game. In the first few games of the season, the Kingsmen rookies com- pletely annihilated their opposition, with their biggest win coming over a hapless Lakeridge club, 74--15. But not all the games after that were not so easy. West Linn, a perennial thorn in the Kingsmen side, fought Putnam down to the wire twice before losing. Coach Wally Rogalstad turned in what observers called an out- standing coaching jobf, and, although the team had quite a bit of, talent to begin with, Rogalstad got the players to jell early in the r season, and play consistently throughout the year. l1 -
