MILLARD DANIEL HILL, M.D. FEBRUARY 4, 1901-APRIL 19, 1969 Familiarly known as M. D. , Dr. Hill came to Rex Hospital as a young intern in 1929 following graduation from the Medical College of Virginia. A native of johnston County, he also graduated from Trinity Park fDuke Universityj and Wake Forest College. Through the years as he engaged in the private practice of medicine, he was associ- ated with Rex in many capacities, including Chief of the Medical Staff. In 1934 he was named Wake County's General Practitioner of the year, and at the time of his death was Chairman of the Wake County Board of Health. Active in many national, state, and local medical groups, Dr. Hill served as Vice-President of the A.M.A. in 1955. For nine years, he was Secretary-Treasurer of the North Carolina State Medical Society. In his care and concern for others he exemplified those qualities most admired in physicians of Charity, Loyalty, and Integrity as he ministered to his fellowman through participation in medical, civic, and church activities.
