...nn-nfl IN SPECIAL RECOGNITION WE HONOR MR. SAMUELS FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICA TION TO OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY Mr. Samuels has long been a familiar face in the halls of Re- vere High School and throughout the schools of Revere. Pre- vious to his career as Guidance Director for the Revere Public Schools, he was a teacher at the Garfield School from l936- l94O. ln l94O, he broadened his experience as a teacher at the high school. ln l954, he became a Guidance Counselor and shortly thereafter was selected for his present position, Guid- ance Director. Although he has contributed much of his time to academics and counseling. he still found time to become an active part of our religious community and the civic world. As the National Jewish War Veterans President, he was given a special invitation to the White House by President Lyndon Baines Johnson to sign a bill pertaining to veterans. During his numerous visits to bases of the Armed Forces, he had the opportunity to meet General Abrahms, the man who played an important part in ending the United States involve- ment in Vietnam. Among other historical figures he had met are Abba Ebin. Golda Meir, and the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy. One of his most outstanding encounters was speak- ing at the testimonial of Ambassador Rabin and presenting a letter of gratitude to the government of Denmark for their help in saving the lives of refugees from World War ll. As a graduate of Harvard, his life has been one of unusual events and beneficial experiences of which he has passed on to the many generations of students whom he has en- lightened.
