Uhr Zlllnmvr Elhat Ellnnmrh We were a mere flower seed Planted 1n school long ago Mlxed ln wxth dlfferent weeds Gulded by the teacher s hoe Some grew by leaps and bounds Others grew very slow Wlth the tender care we got Our m1nds began to grow The heavens opened frequently And showered us w1th knowledge Some of us took a buslness course Whlle others planned for college We thrlved well upon our food The books and hours of study We had a thlrst for learnlng And grew beslde our buddy Were only the tears we shed The end of school was nearlng And who knew what lay ahead' The sun shone down upon us From the Sk18S so blue above It k1SS6d our sk1n Wlth goodness Promotmg brotherly love We changed from that l1ttle seed To a bud about to burst Twevle years of good tlmes have passed From thls year back to the first Here we are on Commencement Day A garden of wondrous flowers About to begm l1fe s Journey Through happy and sorrowful hours Who knows when we w1ll be p1cked Who knows where we ll make our stand? 'he Senior lgrnmrnahr Friday February 11 1955 the event had finally arrived that all semors had been looking forward to the semor prom As the doors opened there lay for all eyes to behold falryland filled with the enchantment of South Pacific Islands topped with the theme of the prom Moonlight and Roses ' The committee had been at work for weeks to make this prom the best one at Revere Hlgh School for years Greatly a1d1ng in the work of the prom were Patricia Marino and Anthony Scaplcchio co chairmen Heading the chaperone ticket program refreshment, orchestra and decorating committees were Marilyn Blnda Alfred Alex ander James Vllll0ttl, Annette DeMas1 Diana Ventresca and Joan DeRosa Under these competent directors were Eda Martino, Marie Dlglio Tom Goodman Joseph Polldoro Juanita Miller Richard Pike Lorraine Leone Frances Augllera Joanne Gould Earle Lilly John Spinelli Kenneth Goodman John Blake Joanne Slgnore Mongiardo and Edward Palladmo These students worked energetically making roses palm trees boats and water for the decorations The invited guests who attended were Mayor and Mrs Edward R White Jr Mr Anthony Moschella Dr and Mrs Hartigan Mr and Mrs Augustine Whelan, Mr and Mrs Harry Fmklestem Mr and Mrs Ralph Martino, Mr and Mrs Laurence Vlarxno 'Miss Dorls Wyman Miss Edwma Strong and members of the Revere High School Faculty A contest was held to determine the Prom Kmg and Queen Gall Gallant was crowned queen to the dellght of the boys and John Flgllola was hailed as the king which was warmly received by the girls At approximately eleven oclock we were ln line for our grand march Led by Gerald Flnkelstein our president other class officers followed and we each followed in tum Pictures were taken for our yearbook then we all danced our last waltz together Our semor prom was over and there was nothing but the tender memories which we will always hold in our hearts As we departed we glanced at each other and caught a gllmpse of regret that all good things come to an end ' O I ! y . y . . . , ll ' .Y . . . , - . 0 . , . , , . . . . Seninr Spnrtz Eng On Thursday February 3 1955 the entlre semor body was whisked off to the Wlnter Wonderland of Mount Hood Everyone enjoyed the bus trlp up for lt was full of sxngmg jokmg and merry making We arrlved about ten thlrty and our Klng Donny Shannon and Queen Carrle Rossettl were already chosen by unammous vote The first slght that greeted our eyes was the long awalted snow The temperature was a nlppy zero degrees but Old Sol gave promlse of a wonderful day To get to the lodge one had to fight h1s way over skls sleds toboggans and lce skates The two ponds were xmmaculate and as smooth as glass Many enjoyed happy hours upon the ICE The other more dare dev1l student preferred the thrnlls and skllls of sleddlng and tobogganmg A few lucky students took thelr skis and were the envy of the crowd The most popular sport of the day was the tradltlonal washmg of the face nn snow Around twelve oclock we ate our lunches of meat ball sandwlches to kosher plckles fThe latter donated by MISS Strongj Among the merrxment of the day a few casualtles were brought ln Nothlng to get us 6YClt6d It was only a few broken elbows frost bltten feet stralned llgaments and a few Jolly students gettlng mto a few colllslons Soon It was four oclock and everyone gave way to Slllglng ln the lodge At thls pomt we thanked the chaperones for thelr wonderful company and guldance They were Wir OKeefe Mr and Mrs Hathaway M1ss Boraschl M1ss Powers Mr Ruberto Mr Cella 'Nlr Cerasolx Mr and Mrs W O Goss M1ss Wyman and Mlss Strong The busses came and once agaln whlsked us off toward home Ieawmg 1n our memory the wonderful and happy day we all had We turned the corner of the road and Mount Hood was out of slght probably never to be seen agam except ln our yearbook 1 r 1 y , 1 - Y , .
