BUUI Out Those of Us HHHHEPIH' ENGLISH DEPARTMENT Riding herd on the English language is auite a chore when dealing with 2900 students, but our schoolmarms and masters take it in their stride and do a complete and competent job. The English department justly claims proficiency in the light of its many award winning stu- dents. Special classes in literature and power reading keep our faster students forever on the move. Many fine student publications are circulated on campus: l'The Regents Review, the campus paper, and the Spur, the creative writing magazine. Drama has had an active year with its Wednesday' noon dramas and elaborate spring and sen- ior play productions. Seniors polished off the year with special gradu- ation speeches written in their English classes DRIVER'S EDUCATION DEPARTMENT Oh, for the good old days! Yesteryear's horse and buggy was never as complicated as today's horseless carriage. As a result, our driver's education teachers have found teaching the theory of modern driving to be a ten week tussle, Yet, in that relatively short length of time, our teachers pack in the essentials of driving and still supplement the course with interesting talks by police department representatives and insurance men. After completing the practical drivers education course, a student may elect to take driver's training, an on-the-road learning experience. These two courses help to keep Reseda students from becoming Hstatisticsu of the traffic toll.
