FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS Cfirls with a special interest and superior ap- titude in the field of business comprise Re- seda's Future Business Leaders of America. The organization is under the sponsorshp of Mrs. Ann Walker. This semester, in addition to their Weekly meetings, the 25 girls have enjoyed many activities. They had a most memorable in- stallation and for social recreation a pro- gressive party was enjoyed by each mem- ber and their guests. F.B.L.A. annually sponsors 'Career Day. This is very beneficial to every interested Regent because it provides an opportunity to delve into the different professions, and through discussions with representatives the girls discover the opportunities offered in each field. FUTURE TEACI-IER'S CLUB Students desirous of entering the teaching profession are invited to join the Future Teacher's Club. The present thirty members have been informed of the special oppor- tunities this field offers and they are striving to attain the qualities essential in a superior teacher. To their meetings guest speakers represent- ing every phase of education have been in- vited. This semester two interesting lectures were given by Mrs. Cloke, from a nursery school, and Mrs. Garris, who instructs the mentally retarded. By attending the sixth annual Future Teach- er's Conference at S.C., the thirty members had an opportunity to listen to lectures and participate in discussions analyzing the teaching as a profession. This year to foster a Wider scope of interest in this field the Future Teacher's Club, with the help of Mr. Goodmanson, sponsor of the club, sponsored National Education Week at Reseda. STAGE ARTS The smooth functioning of the assemblies is dependent upon the 28 members of Stage Arts. These ambitious students devote many extra hours in preparation for the various activities that are held in the Auditorium. This year the hard workers gained the most satisfaction from the splendid job they did with lighting and sound techniques for the senior play. Mr. Lassiter has acted as sponsor, and the stage manager is Steve Semer. Any student with special talents in this field will receive awards and possible membership in the Thespian Society, which is an honor organi- zation for drama students.
