THESPIANS Tie highest honor that can be bee stowed upon an aspiring young actor or actress of Reseda is acceptance into the Thespian Society. This is a national organization with chapters in each high school. At Re- seda the membership stands at twenty this semester. ludy Whitely has acted as president with able assistance from Barbara Stellman, vice president. ln order for one to become a member of this organization, participation in the drama festivals, in drama production, and in other events connected with this department is essential, The highlight of the Thespian's activity this year was a formal installation of new members and the presentation of awards. SEALBEARERS AND TORCHBEARERS Honors are due to those students who have achieved outstanding scholastic records throughout high school. These astute pupils are recognized in their senior year by becoming a Torchbearer or Sealbearer. A Torchbearer has been a member of Alcuins, Resedas honor scholarship society, for three semesters, and a Sealbearer has attained membership for four or more semesters. Each one of these students gets special acknow- ledgement on the Commencement program. xx CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS COUNCIL The Clubs and Organizations Council pro- vides a mediating board for these groups of Regentville. A representative from each or- ganization on campus meets under the di- rection of Susan Greenberg, winter director, and Warren Brandli, summer director, to air problems on school-wide club activities, and vote on matters confronting the campus clubs. A n n u a l l y the Clubs and Organizations Council sponsors the spring formal, sports night, and clean-up campaign. The high- light of the year is the Spic and Span dinner. GIRLS' ADVISORY BOARD Keeping and promoting superior stand- ards in grooming and citizenship for Re- seda girls are the 29 members of Girls' Advisory Board. This year Anne Deming headed the group for the fall semester, and Marcie Edwards took over in the spring. Monthly three girls representing each grade level are chosen to depict the ad- mirable characteristics in a high school girl and at the end of the year all the senior girls have the opportunity to vote on which one will be deemed l'Coed of the Year. This honor goes to any senior girl who was a Girl of the Month during the l2th grade. BOYS' LEAGUE ADVISORY BOARD The Boys' League Advisory Board was established this year as an independent function of Boys' League Cabinet. The Advisory Board selects a representative from each grade level to be Regent of the Month. By such a selection, high stand- ards of grooming, personality, character and scholastic achievement are promoted to boys of Reseda. CP! The difficult task of selecting this well- rounded boy is handled through inter- view. Bach candidate experiences exten- sive guestioning, and the final selection is based primarily on the responses, and on the boy's past record of school service. When the three representatives from each grade level are chosen, arrangements are made to post pictures of the individuals in the Science Building.
