B FOOTBALL Sparked by the dazzling running of speedy Armando Martinez, B Player of the Year, the Regent team, with a E5-2-U seasonal record, captured its first league crown. When All- DON HAGEN Valley selections were made, eight Reseda RON WAX players besides Martinez were named. They were Tony Davila, Ron Wax, Mike Hererra and Don Hagen on the first team. Second team honors went to Dennis Manskar and Darryl Townsend. Pete King and Fred Coleman re- gf ceived Honorable Mention. The team started the season by suffering a loss X to Burroughs. ln the two following weeks, they bounced back and walloped both San Fernan- do and Poly. TONY DAVILA DARRYL TOWNSEND Against North Hollywood, Manuel Morales picked up a touchdown in the third quarter to break a scoreless tie. Later in the next frame, Darryl Townsend added six points for a l2-U win, leaving Reseda in undisputed first place. ln the next two contests, the locals kept their record clean by shutting out Monroe and Van Nuys. Birmingham ended Resoda's string of shutout games, but despite this the Regents went on to cinch the championship by garnishing a 20-6 victory. MIKE HERERRA PETE KING ln their finale, a speedy Canoga Park backfield handed them an 86 setback. The Varsity team, led by Ted Eggle- ston and Lewis Barnett, Went all the Way to win the Valley League crown.
