The team was led by Iud Kehl and Merle Holmes, who were unanimous choices for the Helms All-City team. Securing positions on the second and third teams were backfield men Dave Mathieson and Steve Ogden. The team compiled an excellent 8-l-l record. The Regents' first win was a 7-U victory over the Burroughs lndians in Reseda's only practice tilt. The next game saw the Tigers of San Fernando being outplayed, with the game ending 47-U in favor of the Regents. This was the year that for the first time Reseda played the Poly Parrots, and although the grounds were unfamiliar, the Regent eleven once again romped and scored a ill-O win. The game of the year was played against the North Hollywood Huskies on the home field. Additional bleachers were installed in the end zones to accommodate the expected throng. In spite of the fact that Mother Nature brought a heavy rain that evening, a turn-away crowd ap- peared. The Huskies drew first blood when they trapped the Regents in the end zone for a 2-U lead, which they soon extende dto 9-U, and this became the halftime score. However, behind the fine work of middle guard lud Kehl and quarterback Dave Mathieson, Reseda overcame this deficit and went on to win lil-9. The following week they played the visiting Monroe Vikings and came out on the better end of a 6l-6 score. When Reseda traveled to meet the Van Nuys Wolves the game turned out to be an ex- change of fumbles and ended in a 26-7 victory in favor of the Regent eleven. fContinued on Page 981 STEVE OGDEN Helms All-City Third Team TERRY WILSON Helms All-Valley Second Team LARRY STONE Helms All-Valley Second Team hey brought honors to our rolm
