The Senior class of 1966 is being entertained by a party given in their honor. Looking on this is what we see: Jim Elliott, thanks to his great schooling at R. H. S., is a heavy operator, machinery op- erator that is. He is happily married and has four boys who have his same traits. Randy Rahe, unsuccessfully trying his best to get part ownership of the Byron Grain Elevator, is still trying to wear out his '58 Ford so he can get a 1986 Ford GT. Richard Barry, still holding his grudge against girls, is living a lonely life with his money, while trying to homestead his six section farm. Jamie Hofts, having graduated from nurses training, is now head of the nursing staff at Asbury. In her spare time, she sponsors art exhibitions. Martha Rothchild, champion typist for the last five years and now president of Brown-Mackie School of Business, contributes her success to Coach Johnson’s great advice in Typing II. Mike Fager is now employed at Boeing in Wichita as a draftsman. For excitement, he races at Daytona Beach with his outstanding '52 Ford. James Levendofsky has graduated from K-State with a degree in Agriculture and is presently engaged in farming Republic County. Vickie Boman is top beautician in California and married to a millionaire. They live in a mansion and go surfing daily in their own swimming pool. Cynthia Brown has recently been recognized as America's greatest poet. She has composed over twenty volumes of ballads and countless books of poetry . Valeita Brzon, a lab technician, lives, happily married, in Dallas, Texas. On her off- duty hours, she works on her weekly column for a medical journal. NanCie Hinks has graduated from K-State with her doctorate in English. She is now teach- ing English Literature in UCLA. Cathy Steier is a French interpreter for the President. Cathy is married and she devotes her spare time to teaching her 5 sons French. Janice Thornton, having received her music degree, is giving private lessons to Leonard Bernstein's grandchildren. Tom Smith is still going to school on a track scholarship. He has won a world champion- ship for running the two mile relay by himself. Stan Eitzmann is now a fullback with the Green Bay Packers. While not in training, he vacations on his 1,200 acre ranch in Montana. Phyllis Miller is secretary for Bob Ford, head executive of Ford Motor Co. As part of her fringe benefits, she receives a new Thunderbird yearly. John Hall is employed at Western Electric. His 15 years of experience have paid off, for John is now head foreman in his department. Dale Fischer works for Stone Construction Company. He operates the largest bulldozer in Kansas and he plans to start his own company this fall. Carol Petersen, an IBM operator on K-State campus, often returns to Republic High to in- spect the electrical machines in the clerical department. Joan Levendofsky, now a chemistry teacher at Kansas State, is happily married to a doctor who practices in Manhattan. Clifford Daugherty, a Seaman First Class, is stationed on theU. S. S. Kitty Hawk in Hong Kong. Paul Osborne, now one of the best known authors on squirrels is also a professor at C. U. He teaches Zoology there. Harlan Eitzmann is also a professor. He teaches agriculture at C. U. and is experimenting in animal husbandry. Belleville, Kansas REPUBLICAN VALLEY FEED LOTS Scandia, Kansas History of the Class of 1966 Twelve years ago, in 1955, seven girls and seven boys began the road to higher education. We were Vickie Boman, Carol Petersen, Jamie Hofts, Cynthia Brown, Phyllis Miller, Janice Thornton, NanCie Hinks, Bobby Meggitt. Clifford Daugherty, Gary Cline, Dale Fischer, Tim Sankey, Jim Elliott, and Randy Rahe. It was Mrs. Mitchell's privilege to teach us the first two years of grade school. Before we knew it, thirteen second graders had made it through another year. We began our third grade under Mrs. Tallent with the loss of Tim Sankey and a gain of Linda Saffarans, Uene Myers, and Linda Johnson. Our fourth grade year, we lost two students, Linda Johnson and NanCie Hinks, and gained Tim Sankey. Miss Gildersleeve, our fifth grade teacher, had 21 eager and bright students with the addition of seven new students, Stanley Eitzmann, Harlan Eitzmann, Valeita Brzon, Sandra and Shirley Powell, and Joan and James Levendofsky. The same students entered the sixth grade with Mis. Ash as our teacher. We gained two new students, Don Keazer and Betty Stradley, our seventh grade year with Mrs. Smith as our teacher. Our eighth grade year we lost three students, Don Keaser, Ilene Myers and Linda Saffarans. but gained three new students, Cathy Steier, Phyllis and Christina Wells. The eighth grade class of 23 students graduated from grade school with Mr. Johnson as our teacher. In the fall of 1963, 27 green freshmen crossed the threshold to high school. We lost Betty Stradley, Phyllis and Christina Wells, but gained seven students: Richard Barry, Mike Fager, John Hall, Martha Rothchild, Paul Osborne. Tom Smith, and NanCie Hinks. Our sophomore year Joan and James Levendofsky, Gary Cline, and Tim Sankey left and Jo Ann Hestand and Pat Reinke joined us. Twenty-four juniors were advancing fast with the gain of James Levendofsky and the loss of Jo Ann Hestand and Pat Reinke. Our Senior year we gained Joan Levendofsky. Of the 23 members of our graduating class, ten started together twelve years ago: Vickie Boman, Carol Petersen, Cynthia Brown, Jamie Hofts, Phyllis Miller, Janice Thornton, Clifford Daugherty, Dale Fischer, Randy Rahe and Jim Elliott. Our years of schooling have filled the halls with laughter and the classrooms with hard studying and brainwork. The Senior class of 1966 has had many unforgettable moments at good old R. H. S.
