ln the fall of 'dl we entered Republic Hiph for the last time. We were Seniors! - The class officers for the Senior year were as follows: President Carl Hall Vice President Lucile Bishop Secretary Evelyn Jordan Treasurer Virgil Kuntz Reporter Freda Kenner fe were represented in practically all activities by the various aenbers of our class.Participating in the scholarship tests wereg Lucile Bishop, Virgil hunts, Iargaret Ink, Joyce Kretsinger, Mary hoops, Evelyn Jordan, Carl Hall, and Vincent Georueg in debate were Carl Hall and Margaret Ink. We were represented vocally by Joyce Hretsinger. Those in basketball were Paul Yates,Vincent George, Leonard Powell, Robert Chaney and Arlin Ueikerg in the Senior Scholarship test by Lucile Bishop, Iargaret Ink and-Carl Hall. In the One Act Play, characters from our class were Robert Chaney,Joyce Hretsinger and Lucile Bishop. lie presented the class play entitled, It Happened Next 'I'U.esda7f, on April 2-1. ln sports, the Seniors carried away the Class Qasketball Championship for the segond time. Our class was quite well represented in various inter- scholastic activitiesg debate, 3asketball,county scholarship tests, F. F. A. and F. H. A. Perhaps the nest outstanding event of this year was the Trcshnen lnntiation. He were Qiven a Uhoyaln welcome by the upper-classnen ani we soon became accustomed to high school life. The folldwing class officers were chosen as Freshmen: , wPresident b Carl Hall Vice President Paul Yates A Secretary Virgil Kuntz Treasurer Stella Kramer 'Reporter Freda Kenner nOnward Is Our Aimn was chosen as the class motto, and green and gold were selected as class colors. Ve also choose the yellow rose as the class flower. During this year Ethel Laux and Russel Hamilton left us and Jovce McDonald was welcomed as a new member, :I . Our class advisors were hr. Swihart and Miss Erwin. Then in the fall of 1059, we again entered Scipio-hepub- lic School as Sophomores. This year we lost two nembersg Ed- ith Hopkins and Uharles Ohler. As-sophomores we elected the followind officers: - President Paul fates Vice President Lucile Bishop Secretary Regina Stark A Treasurer A Mary Roepe 4 As Sophomores we were well represented in many extra- curricular aetivitiesg these being, representative to a Red Cross Society, One Act Play, basketball manager, basketball team, F. F. A.-Speaking Gontest, Prince of Peace Contest,Vo- cal Contest, and debate. This year we also placed second initne class basketball tournamenti Our advisors were Hrs. Smith and hr. Swihart. On September of l94O we entered R.H.S. as Juniors. This year we presented our class play entitled HThe Butterflynand we also entertained the Seniors at the Junior-Senior Banquet.
