Thirty girls began their strenu- ous workout in August. Along with teamwork, they learned new offensive plays including the “no- hit-fake-option and new defen- sive plays. Mr. Huff applied his special training from Moscow (U.S.S.R.) to his coaching duties. The team was seeded first in the district. All the workouts paid off in a 14-4 record for the season and the 212 Conference title. Mary Standfuss and Jackie Muet- zel were named to the All-Confer- ence team.
