The week’s festivities began with the Coronation on Monday night. After many suspenseful moments, Terri Kemnitz and Mike DeGree were crowned Renville’s 1977 Queen and Escort. The Coronation proceeded with skits from every class and many cheers from the cheer- leaders. Despite Renville's determined effort, they fell short in bringing home a victory. In the final quarter the Bird Island gridders took over and won by the score of 26 to 13. Following the game Tytus Canby” performed at the Homecoming Dance, giving the week a successful end. 1. SENIOR COURT First Row: B. Abbas. J. Peterson, P. Dahlke. T. Kemmb Second Row: B. Fischer. T. Sturlaugson. J Hoftman, T. Smith. M DeGree. 2. The Senior skit won the skit contest Coronation night with the Tonight Show. 3. The Sophomore Class won second place with its All Star Wrestling skit. 6

Gigstad (Aunt Alberta) After many weeks of hard practice, the play Afraid of the Dark was ready to be presented. Under the direction of Mr. Kutter, the play was performed for the elementary classes as an afternoon matinee, then for the geneial audience in two evening performances. This mystery farce in three acts took place in the living room at Stone Mansion,” an isolated country estate. A young couple arrived one June night at “Stone Mansion to spend their two-week honeymoon, Chaun- cey (the husband) confessed to Lillums (his wife) that ever since childhood he had been afraid of the dark and had never been able to overcome his childish pho- bia. No sooner had he unburdened himself, when the lights went out and there they were, in the dark! When the lights came on again the astounded couple found themselves surrounded by fantastic characters in the supposedly deserted house and they were plunged into the midst of a spy plot — but a spy plot with a different twist! 8
