Gluth. Renville’s Junior High Band had a difficult job of fitting in performances during the hectic 76-77 school year. The 85 member band, under the guidance and direction of James Merkel, did a respectable job by performing in all of the scheduled concerts during the year. When at athletic events the Senior High Band was given a night off, the Junior High Band was held responsible for providing the rousing pep music. The Junior High Choir, under the direction of Jon Ek, finished out another great year in 77. The young and talented singers held concerts in the fall, winter and spring that provided fascinating listening for Renville High School as well as the entire community. 1. Barton and David show their fine musical ability at a concert. 2. Part of the winter concert was performed by the Junior High Band 3. The choir attentively waits for their cue. 4.
