Seniors Re-enact Melodrama The many talents of the senior class were displayed November 15 and 16 when they presented Adrift in New York (or Her First False Step). The three-act melo- drama of the Gay Nineties fea- tured music from that time era. The plot of the play involved an unscrupulous villain (played by Dave Henneberry), who tried to take advantage of two poor, but honest, young people (Sue Wolter and Kevin Mulder). A scene from a honkytonk on the famous Bowery was included. Twenty-three seniors partici- pated in the production. 1. Francis Desmond and Burke plot a plan of action. 2. Sadie sings Put Your Arms Around Me as Monty looks on. 3. Seniors' talents are utilized behind and in the scenes. 4. Francis Desmond pro- claims his plans and powers. 5. Nellie exclaims as Jack expresses his love.

Juniors Go “Off The Track” A major entertainment attrac- tion at RHS last spring was the Junior Class rendition of the play Off the Track. This three act comedy shows the trials of eleven train pas- sengers stranded at a run-down wayside railroad station because of a derailment. Problems that these people faced included loud snoring, stolen pearls, a bomb threat, and a briefcase full of mice. This play, under the direction of Ann Martinson, was pre- sented in one matinee and two evening performances. 1. Passengers of the train pass their time playing games. 2. After being accused of stealing pearls, Mrs. Garonio's daughter comforts her. 3. The old aunt demands her cigar back. JUNIOR CLASS PLAY CAST First Row: (Left To Right) E. Branick. L. Link, C. Meutzel, K. Prodoehl. S. Johnson Second Row: M. Emerson, C. Sietsema, C. Schmidt, J. Bakker, J. DeGree, P. Schroeder, J. Sconberg, R. Hebrink.
