Miss Olson, commercial instructor, and Miss Johnson, librarian, look on while Mrs. Cavett, social and English instructor, points out a card for one of the many new books. Mr. Bendix, physics, chemistry, and science in- structor, introduces a new teaching aide to Mr. Lysne, biology, algebra, and geometry instruc- tor. Studying the equipment in the industrial arts room are Mr. Prior, industrial arts instructor and Mr. Wacholz, agriculture teacher. Mr. Johnson, history and Latin teacher and Mr. Merritt, English teacher, smile over the rapid progress made by their students. Miss Westphal and Mr. Robinson, physical education and health instructors, take a mo- ment's rest from their busy schedule. 6

Mrs. Rosena Thompson and Mrs. Betty Wacholz, third grade teachers, take time off to discuss a les- son for science class. Mrs. Lyla Williams and Mrs. Anna Van Zee, fourth grade teachers, discuss the various forms of plant life in the aquarium. Miss Vernice Schimming, special teacher, and Miss Arlene Ree, kindergarten teacher, share a joke at the end of the day. 'pacuCfy Miss Shirley Schmidt and Mrs. Mary Foster, first grade teachers, look over pamphlets on how to care for their new aquarium. Miss Phoebe Beers and Miss Ruth Bochaus, second grade teachers, page through one of their new read- ing books. 5

Miss Patricia Knoll, home economics teacher, and Mrs. Gertrude McKusick, junior high English teacher, inspect the preserves made by a home economics class. Miss Josephine Gilleland, grade school music teacher, and Mr. James Merkel, high school chorus and band director, are taking a break during their busy music schedule. The two sixth grade teachers, Miss Alyce Tigge- laar and Mr. Roger Weber, are examining a collection of butterflies. The fifth grade teachers, Mrs. Lola Graham and Mrs. Wendell Bailey, are discussing social studies. Enjoying a laugh are Mr. Phillip Beers, junior high math and science, and Mr. William Snyder, junior high social teacher. 7
