'poKxthzCl Squad The Renville Indians captured third place in the 212 conference this season by winning five conference and one non-conference games. The first game was a victory over Marshall Central. This was followed by four victories over Bird Island, Brownton, Buffalo Lake and Danube, our Homecoming game. The two games following Homecoming were lost to Hector and Stewart. Renville closed the season with a victory over Sacred Heart. Two seniors, Jerome Jacobs and Morris Bakker, were named to the all-conference football team. The Indians’ record for the conference was ten wins and five losses. Four non-conference games were also played. These included a loss to Montevideo, a victory over Olivia, and two victories in preliminary games with Brooten and Jeffers. The district tournament began with Renville's winning over Brownton on March 3. On March 7 the Indians played Hutchinson at Glencoe and won. In the semi-final game the Indians again won in a game played with Hector, a team who had beaten them twice during the season.
