Hank DeJong, President The goal of student government is to give each member of the student body association the opportunity to become experienced in the workings of student government and the responsibility to contribute his best to it. As leaders of this organization, the greatest responsibility of the SBA officers is to provide through the student council and its activities both the means and the example for attaining this goal. Yet, the effectiveness of student government de- pends largely upon the attitude the student body takes toward it. If there is no interest, our student government reflects our attitude. It is boring and a waste of time. If there is interest, and this interest increases. student govern- ment becomes increasingly more rewarding and valuable. It has been both a privilege and an opportunity to serve as student body president this. year. I am thankful for it. Speaking also for Nancy and Sylvia I hope that the trust placed in us has been validated: I trust we have done ag good job. Above all, I hope that in future years there will be such fine interest and participation in student body activities as there has been during this year. 1 1 A fi was i REPRE ENTATIVES FACE PRCBLEMS .f,Y ROW I: Kathy Maekawa, Robin Tomkinson, Carol Wautlet, Lois Campbell, Randy Wlilliams, Mary Bruskevith, Mary Jo Price, Sally Ellis,-Amy Wilson, Kris Gronsky, Dorothy Belisle, Joyce Nakashima, Virginia Hagerty.
