MW LOUIS BAREI CLYDE DUNSON DAVE ALLEN Vice-President President Secretary BOYS' CLUB The Boys' Club, under the leadership of Mr. O'Brien, Senior High boys' adviser, Clyde Dunson, President, Louis Barei, Vice-President, and David Allen, Secretary, is an organization to which every boy in school belongs. The first duty of the Boys' Club this year was the changing of the constitution to include the ninth grade. With the help of Mr. Robertson, this work was done by Jim Webster, Ken Dohrnherg, Brian Davis, Ron Crock- ett, Bob Shaft, and Jon Bergman. Dads' Night, held on January I3, was the main event of the Year, On this night both boys and girls were invited to bring their fathers to school for an evening of entertainment. ln addition, the Boys' Club put on an assembly once a month with the types of programs of major interest to the boys, They also cofsponsored Careers Day and the College Conference. The purpose of the Boys' Club is to unify the working powers of the boys that they may be of service to the school, to build character, give citizenship training, and develop reliability. Cary Hall, Bob Thiel, Don Puckett, Shirley Gardner, Willingham, Barbara CHIEFTAIN CARRIES SCHOOL NEWS Many weeks of work confronted Barbara Helman and Anne Barnes early in the year when they began their task as co-editors of The Chieftain, first semester. Sharing this work were Lynn Willingham, associate editor, Larry Gibson and Cary Hall, sports editors, Other members of the editorial staff were Helen Ryckman and Lorraine Muhich, exchange editors, Judy Siebens and Marie Rosa, morgue editors, Joan Feyerabend, photo editor, Clarissa Sherman, alumni editor, Joan Feyerabend, Joyce Lawyer, Dick Saunders, and Frances Trimm, copy readers, Norman Balcom and Bob Thiel, co- business managers, Don Puckett, advertising manager, and Fred Delaurenti, circulation manager. Typists were Roberta Bertozzi and Joyce Lawyer, The entire staff is under the direction of Miss Borghild F, Anderson, communications instructor. Second semester brought an entirely new editorial staff. Chosen as co-editors were Joan Fcyerabend and Frances Trimmg associate editor, Orlena Watson. Other members of the staff were Pat Johnson, photo editor, Joyce Lawyer and Loretta Raub, copy readers, Lorraine Muhich and Helen Ryckman, morgue editors, Virginia Peterson, alumni erlitorg Marie Rosa and Judy Siebens, exchange editors. Sports editors were Hal Heath and Noel Owens with Elva Whitson in charge of girls' sports. Herb Huse- land and Noel Owens directed the features. lt was agreed by all that these groups of students published a newspaper that both educated and enter- tained the students of Renton High School.
