Y 'r DlCK MAJOR DICK ANDERSON CATHERINE LEDINC-HAM Vice President President Secretary BUABD 0F C0 TIIIIL Renton High s student governing body the board of control similar to any organization that endeavors to function smoothly is represented by members chosen by the students themselves Every roll rcom has a voice in all matters brought before the board No problem concerning the welfare and betterm nt of Renton High is thouvht too great nor too small to handle by these representatives The Board me ts every other school week to discuss financial matters governing of service clubs and authorizing all other pressing problems. Any questions on these matters are carried back to the rooms by the members for discu.s.on in order that the 'will of the students may be voiced. This year the Board, under the guidance of Mr. Karl J. Weber, vice-principal contributed the following to the l949-SO season: l. The High School entered a three-year agreement with Clint W. Lee Company so that students will get a better price on announcements for graduation. 2. New uniforms were purchased this year for the band, basketball and baseball squads. 3, We contributed to the March of Dimes, the Junior Red Cross, Community Chest. The Board of Control gave an impetus to the filling of Junior Red Cross gift boxes through setting up a little store where these articles may be purchased so that a uniformity of sizes may be obtained to make packing easier. 4. We are co-operating with Auburn High School in the formation of the Puget Sound League Student Council, We contemplate this will aid in clarifying student problems that are common to all schools cf the league such as: letters and chevrons, school sweaters, girls' play days, exchange assemblies, etc. 5. We enlarged our club activities to include the Chess Club, the United Nations Club, and the Dis- tributed Education Club.
