Breaking the trail for the numerous successful activities were Marion landers, President, Royce Kreutz, Vice-President, and Doreen O'Brien, Secree tary. Activities for the year began with the Girls' Club Conference at Puyallup with the working theme Girls' Problems. With this in mind our representatives came back to help solve our own girls' problems. A popular feature inaugurated this year was the monthly selection of the Girls of the Month. This committee was headed by Cleo Beckstrom the first semester and Carol Olson the last. Outstanding among the committees was the Standard Committee with Wilma Stewart as Chairman. Culminating the year's events were Tolo Week, climaxed by the dance and the crowning of the queen and king5 election time with the usual campaign speeches, the Mothers' Tea and the installation of new officers. The Girls' Club is an organization for all Senior High girls and gives each one an opportunity to participate in its numer- ous activities. The Girls' Club Council is composed of a representative from each home room, the officers and committee chairmen. The duties of this council are to plan all Girls' Club assemblies and activities and to see that they function properly and interestingly. Bay ww The Senior High boys are organized into a Boys' Club for the purpose of unifying the services that boys can render the school. Officers of the club include a president, a vice-president and a secretary elected at the annual spring S. B. A. elections. ln addition to the officers, an executive board including a representative frorn each horne room assists the officers and the club advisor, Mr. Seppi, in planning the club activities. The Boys' Club has an important part in general welfare work, discipline and student morale. Character development and citizenship training form the core around which club meetings are built. Bandar Iohnnie, tell Mr. Rockhill we would like to have him play at the pep assembly. Pearl, ask Charlie Mitchell to pull out the bleachers, We'1l never get this program in on timell Who will we have speak? Which yells shall we give? This may sound a little silly to you, but if you had been backstage nearly any day during sixth period that is what you would have heard. The yell leaders, supervised by Mrs. Hannus, spent sixth period every day during football and basketball season working out routines and planning pep assemblies. The yell leaders worked long and hard this year and deserve a lot of credit for their fine work. Have you seen Mr. Pattie, Dot? P ,U Hand Originated by Mr. Rockhill nine years ago when it became apparent that a small band was needed for basketball games and pep assemblies, the Pep Band Concert and exchange assemblies, the Pep Band has now become a tradition. This year, besides its original duties, it was given berth in the Winter Band Concert and exchange assemblies where it performed several regular swing and dance band tunes. The Make-up Crew is a very important division of the Drarnatics Department. This group ot behind-the-scenes activity was on hand at every schoollproduction to put make-up on the various participants. Siege Krew This year marked a great many firsts in the stage crew. lt was the first year that the stage crew was connected in any way with a class, this class being called Stagecraft. lt's purpose was to teach a general knowledge of the stage along with lighting, building of sets, etc. This was also the first year that flats were used to denote walls of a set instead of the old curtains. Another first was that girls were allowed in the crew. The stagecrew under the direction of Mr. Harley Kirk should receive a round of applause from students and faculty alike for adding a great deal of class to our stage this year. Z? ,4. Krew The P. A. Crew, under the direction of Mr. Kenneth Pattie, is called upon to set up the system for all out-of-doors affairs and all assemblies and basketball games in the gym.
