Born 1863 in Matanzas, Cuba. Prepared at Georgetown College, graduated from R, P. I. in '37 with degree of C.E. Employed by Troy Steel and Iron Co. in chemical department. Within two .years advanced to position of Principal Assistant in Chemical Laboratory and Mechanical En- gineer in Charge of Draughting Room. In 1892 he was employed by The W. A., Wood Mowing and Reaping Machine Co., of I-loosiclc Falls, N. Y., as Chief Chemist and Metallurgist, but returned in a short time as Chief Chemist and Metallurgist to The Troy Steel and Iron Co. Mr. Touceda's con- sultation worlc soon grew to such an extent that he resigned his position in '94, and established his consultation laboratories. He is retained by the year by many large manufacturers, and has ex- amined and reported on the processes of many mining properties in the United States, Canada and Alaska. I-Ie is a member of the A. S. C. E., A. I. M. E., A. C. S., A, S. T. M., A. S. E. E. N. Y.
