The sponsors are Mrs. Jungblut and Mrs. Blubaugh. Maureen Egan, Jennifer Nesius, and Lisa Lintner participated in the Chesterton Speech Meet in January, 1987. Maureen came away with top honors in Radio Broadcasting. She placed first in each category in which she competed. They defeated the other five finalist teams from around the state. The Hoosier Spell Bowl is sponsored by a group of citizens concerned with promoting academic excellence. The format of the contest is slightly different from that of the normal spelling bee. Each team has ten members. The first member of each team sits at a desk on the gym floor. The emcee pro- nounces the words, gives them in a sentence, and pronounces them again. The contestant writes the eight words, then is replaced by the next member. -Genny Jones- 19

(J linos haos took on a new lustre during the 1986-87 school year. Now being published by Taylor Publishing Com- pany, the RCHS yearbook was eased in- to the computer age by way of a new IBM PC. Much of the book was entered onto a floppy disk and then sent to Dallas where the company’s typesetting and layout programs took over. The result was a more accurate and more contemporarily developed record of the school year. Many of the people are in the photo below and they represent the those who shoot, edit, crop, write and compose the elements that make the Chaos. As the computer grows in its uses in journalism, both the yearbook and the school newspaper will grow accordingly.
