National Honor Society inducts 28 The Rensselaer Central National Honor Society initiation was held at the high school auditorium on Tuesday April 22, 1980. Club president Chris Paulsen presided over the initiation service. Club officers Annie Bucholtz, Gina Gonzales, Elizabeth Nagel, and Brenda Torbet assisted in reading and explaining the criteria for selection into the society. Lisa Mitchell, Gina Gonzales, and Margaret Misch assisted in the presentation of pins to each new initiate. Lisa Mitchell, a transfer from Kokomo High School, also received a pin from the Rensselaer Chapter. Rev. Bruce Mitchell served as the guest speaker for the service. All old members of the society were present at the service. They included seniors Kirt Dickey, Gina Gonzales, Elizabeth Nagel, Chris Paulsen, Glen Reinhold, Robin Salyer, Brenda Torbet. Juniors Steve Egan, Elizabeth Groppe, Virginia Honneger, Tom Kenny, Margaret Misch, Mary Myers, Jill Reinhold, Lori Teach, Ann Tonner and Mike Wright. 14

Mystical Knights serve community (I to r) Brooks Beehler, vice-president; Kreg Mattocks, secretary; Mark McKnight, president; Steve Zawodney, treasurer. The Mystical Knights provided Christmas baskets to needy families around the community. They also sold popcorn at all the home basketball games.
