To keep in step, the 1970 CHAOS staff has put extra time and planning into putting out a more creative yearbook. Colored pictures, a new layout form, and a patron page are just a few of the many improve- ments put into the yearbook. This is just the first step in building a better publication. To keep up with modern times, I hope that the future CHAOS staffs will continue to keep pace with changing times. ?« CH AOS SEVENTY STAFF Renee Primeau Cathy Blackball Patti Price Pat Brown Mike Brown Julie Amsler, Janice Cooley, Barb Eaton. An unusual and scientif- ically oriented demonstration was a service rendered by the Atomic Energy Commis- sion. And, towards the latter part of the school year, Rensselaer Central students were audience to a number of bands, rang- ing from Crown Point’s fine high school band to the excellent concert band from In- diana State University. 39 40 CONTENTS Mike Brown, Sports Editor Pat Brown. Art Editor Sophomores 44 Organizations 50 Varsity Cheerleaders 64 Basketball 66 Juniors 72 Wrestling 78 Within the covers of this year’s CHAOS, we have attempted to present a yearbook which bet- ter represents our high school and its students. The format is that of a magazine divided accord- ing to seasons. For example, the first section is September through November, and activities and sports which took place during those months are presented. We also switched to individual pictures for all the classes. Organizations and sports are spaced so that they won’t monotonize the reader. We hope the future will bring even more exciting in- novations for an ever improving yearbook. MONOGRAM CLUB Greg Lintner, Dave Yeoman, Rick Linback The Class of 1970 boasts three outstanding athletes. Greg Lintner and Dave Yeoman were instrumental in Rensselaer’s football conference championship. Rick Linback performed sensationally as the Bombers’ basketball sharpshooter; by the same token, Dave and Greg proved to be extremely well qualified basket- ball players. Much of Rensselaer’s success in athletics is a direct result of these boys’ efforts. 62 A NEW SLANT ON RENSSELAER’S PEP CLUB Susie Wiles, President; Dianna Cors, Treasurer; Vicki Hanrahan, Vice Presi- dent; Mrs. Messman, Sponsor; Susie Childs, Secretary. 63 VARSITY CHEERLEADERS Janet Wiseman Linda Cochran, Captain 64 Margo Merriman Julie Roberts Teresa Gates 65 © b 0 I Of f ° 03 oT „ c c o ® 13 It ll «- c c 3 ggj O V c - o O E j 3s Jjj jg- 1 £.b 03 3 co -o © 2« CQ ► « £ £ ► c © CD 5- 1 2 § C Q «T r- ' E C w •2 E — © .- 4, © « 03Q _ j= c b © L. In order to achieve this challenge, the staff has worked many long, tiring hours on layout and copy assignments. Because of the new changes and ideas, this year’s staff was confronted with a never-ending finan- cial problem. This problem was partially solved by many generous patrons who unselfishly con- tributed to the 1970 CHAOS. At th is time, we would like to thank everyone who made this year ' s book possible. Miss Teresa Gates was crowned Queen of the Islands and Dave Daw- son reigned as her king. Sunshine also left the continent for the Mother’s Tea which was held in Paris, France. The entertainment consisted of a fashion show and singing by a trio of sunshiners. The new officers were installed and refreshments were served to complete a very enjoyable evening. jO SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS: Renee Primeau, Treasurer; Mike Davis, President; Dave Dawson, Vice President; Jeannie Lee, Secretary.
