Filling the building with the sound of our voices, we exchange greetings and news as we rattle locker doors, juggle books and rush to reach class before that last bell rings. We tackle lessons with interest or at least the de- termination to see them through as we slowly and often painful ly add to our store of knowledge . But our efforts are repaid by that occasional thrill which comes from mastering something especially difficult. We fill the minutes between classes with as many words as possible and iam our days with activity as we plan club meetings and projects, sponsor dances, and prepare for a convention. R.H.S., with its classes and homework, and textbooks, organizations and humor, is the center of our lives. Here we devote most of our waking hours to everything from band and chorus, algebra and English to plays and pranks, sportsmanship and boosting the teams. . . lt's a great life! In the thrilling final scene, farmer-hero Jim Bailey saves Shirley from the blade of a sawmill and vanquished the forces of evil. The villain threatens fore- closure unless the pure heroine marries him . P aqa... Thunder rolled and lightning flashed as the normal home life of a typical family was disrupted by the arrival of The Green Scarab . Soldier Herb Arihood's gift of a valuable Egyptian Scarab to his girl, Beth Ockermann, brought G-Woman Karyl Schaden, thief John Rishling, and Egyptian official Bob George into the lives of Herb's family. Track and Field Team. Steady work on the cinders and field won us upper-half ratings in most of our meets, and we ran away with the County Track Meet, earning cz spectacular 98 points against Wheatfield's second place 56 3f4. The brightest spots of the season for Coach Harrison's men were the excellent records set by our Mile, Half-mile, and Shuttle-hurdle relay teams., li fi 3 .,, . TOP ROW: B. Wood, D. Anderson, I.
