NEWCOMER ' S DILEMMA COKES FOR THE THIRSTY It seemed as if the entire student body attended the All-School Party, which proved to be Rensselaer High School ' s most successful. After the recreation was over, we certainly appreciated the cokes and ice cream sandwiches served by the Student Council members. Our thanks go to them and their capable advisor, Mr. Calvin Beaman, for sponsoring this annual mixer. DIG THIS! We began this unforgettable night with a Grand March which thoroughly mingled us with our fellow students. We were then divided into four groups in order to proceed with the evening ' s schedule of activities. In the games and dances which followed all semblance of class disappeared as the green freshmen mixed with the high and mighty seniors. And when the party was all over, we were glad we had welcomed the freshmen in this manner. THE HONDO? The Jasper County Rural Youth lent a new touch to this year ' s party as they took charge of the evening ' s festivities. Not only did they provide for our en- tertainment with group games and dances, but they brought the pro- gram to a fitting close by exhibit- ing their own talents in the form of a skit and a square dance. They also deserve our thanks for the t important part they played in mak- ing the party a success. 4

CeNTEK or ACTIVITY Student life at Rensselaer High School is centered around the study hall. We gather here before school begins in the morning and during our noon-hour to talk over the latest in gossip, be withour favorite mem- ber of the opposite sex, and some- times even catchup on our studying. But as soon as the final bell rings, a cloak of silence falls over the study hall, and we resolve ourselves to the fate of preparing our daily classroom assignments.
