BHD MUSIC-MAKERS Throughout the year we brighten life at Rensselaer High School with music ranging from Sousa to Sibelius. Our marching band performed at every home football game, and half of us alternated entertaining at the home basketball games. In October we participated along with 82 other Hoosier bands in Purdue ' s High School Day. In mid- December we collaborated with the chorus in a memorable Christmas program. When spring rolled around, we joined with the four other county bands to present the County Music Festival. A few weeks later we followed with our own Spring Festival. We closed our year with the band picnic sponsored by the Band Mothers. Nesius. FIFTH ROW: Martin, Schaden, D. Miller, Fitch, Wuerthner, Rishling, Randle, Robinson, Lakin, Jackson, D. B. THERE’S I SONG IN THE AIR Alas for those who never sing, Holmes ' sentiments from The Voiceless reflect ours exactly, for singing certainly adds immeasurably to our enjoyment of life. Our major ap- pearances of the year were in the annual Christmas program and the Spring festival. Part of us were also chosen to participate in the Purdue Chorus, The Variety Show, and var- ious other special activities throughout the school year. From the regular chorus a group of girls is chosen by Mr. Mau for the Girl ' s Glee Club. This group practiced once a week after school to put on special numbers for various community activities throughout the year. TOP ROW: M.
