tIHllItllS Dear Marilyn, Our Hollywood Caravan oi B.H.S. has in the past year traveled to every known war front. lt has entertained the soldiers of Camp Rensselaer with various interesting rallies and song festivals. At Commencement, the last evening of the year when the old crowd sang together for the last time, tears filled our eyes. We knew that many ot the boys would be going soon from civilian to military life. With a song in their hearts, they'll succeed. Mr. Shadley directed us, and I don't care it I do say so myself we've really had a successful year. Affectionately, Betty , Top row, lett to right: Overton, Fletcher, M, Phares, I. S. is doing its bit. Marching down the road to victory under the direction oi Mr. Shadley, our hand has had a very successful year. Many of our soldiers participated in the Bond Rally Program, Qur Awards Program, Spring Festival, lniantile Paralysis Fund Program and Commencement. For the first time in history, our director is awarding merit badges to pri! vates and Corporals who have progressed the most. At the tune of a heart-stirring march my mind wanders home to you and dad listening to your radio. l hope l can join you soon. Your loving son, Phil.

Slfli IIA A ll MATH Dear Max, A few of the men ot our company were selected for the Advanced Technical Training Corps where we reported for training under Miller and Mohr. We were all scared of this new assignment for it meant that great things were expected of us. A mistake here meant a large sack ot potatoes in the battery kitchen. You have no idea of the tactics and special skills we acquired here. We held many interesting discussions during the training period. Our leaders were Max Overton, Ralph Smith, and Iames Hoover. Photography, radio and other scientific materials were studied. Our acquired knowledge will be an asset to us in the post war world of tomorrow. Must close and get to work, Ralph F. ll. A. Dear Paul, You should see the construction gang here at Camp R. H. S.-They are really something, They're neither Army, Navy, nor Marines but a tusion oi all three. Remember that club back in high school days-you were Sec.- Treas. and I was President? l..et's see, wasn't Ed Hudson vice president? This is a lot like it, only you should see the top sergeant. He reminds you oi Harrison in the old days. They no more get things built up when along comes a demolition squad to tear it down. They say that the F. C. A. tthat's what we call theml are the richest bunch around here. I don't know whether it is from work or not-whoops-what AM I saying? Smells like french-fried mothballs thominy to youl for chow and I just love 'em, Ugh!! Be seein' you. Ioe
