HUGH DAVISSON Sponsor SUE MAIN ES President WILLIAM DANIELS Vice-President LUCVL BEAVER T reasurer MISS ELIZABETH LAMSON Sponsor The Senior Class “Ah, no more such noble warriors Could be found on earth as they were.” It was a bright morning in September, 1932, but to one hundred eleven timorous youngsters, standing at the door of a big ad venture, the sky might have been overcast with the blackest clouds. What if they should unknowingly commit a grave error, or worse, a comic one? For days they slid along hesitatingly and fearful. Gradually con- fidence returned under the leadership of Edward Kurtz, and the brillant record they be- gan back in 1924 continued through the intervening years. This class, the largest ever entering R. H. S., has always been recognized for its high scholastic average. As sophomores in 1933-34 they smiled knowingly at the trailing freshmen and marched on after their captain, Russel Rowen. Their junior year found them at the head in every field of endeavor. Recognition in commercial contests especially exhibited their ability. Joe Larsh was the junior pres- ident and leader of the successful Junior-Senior Prom. As seniors they showed their sterling worth when they added still more to their long list of worthwhile accomplishments. S ue Maines was the leader. The debate team, of which three members were seniors was most successful. Maurice Karnowsky, a vet- eran debater proved his remarkable ability by debating on both the negative and affirm- ative teams. The members of the class of 1936 on the basketball squad had the unique distinction of helping to win the first sectional tourney banner in the history of R. H. S. The senior class presented “Seventeen” on May fourteenth at the Armory as their final dramatic production under the able guidance of Miss Myer. The entire cast re- ceived much admirable applause from the audience. Page Fourteen
