S W' On August 31, 1951, we entered the Sophomore Class. This was a big thrill for most of us as it was our first year of Senior High. We started out as usual with new books, new classes, and one new teacher. He was Mr. Lecture Wassel. In the beginning he kept telling us to speak up, say something, don't be afraid to talk. Well, we did and he has been trying ever since to shut us up. Mr. We can't forget our old steadies, who were: Gas Well Rathmell, Mrs. Sid Downing, Mr. Smiley Weicksel, Mr. I want a new car Nuss, Mr. Flip Mills, and, of course, Mr. Florey, Mrs. Boyle, Mrs. Graf, Mr. Bruno, and Mr. Thompson. On November 12, we organized our class. Mr. Mills was our class advisor. The following officers were elected: jack Rabine, President, Robert L. Long, Vice Presidentg Inez Marshall, Recording Secretary, Rose Ann Dayton, Financial Secretary, and Janice Hartsock, Treasurer. Our class colors were yellow and white. We then started making plans for the Sopho- more Hop which was to be held on March 28. Everyone was trying his best to get on the decorat- ing committee. Of course it meant missing classes, but no one seemed to mind. Our next great event was the class picnic which was held at Kettle Creek. It was held on May 23. Our chaperones were Mr. Florey and Mrs. Boyle. We rode to the park in a bus, and of course, we needed a truck to carry the food. That was one thing everyone remembered. The girls all went swim'- ming, but not of their own accord. It was really a great event. Now I must tell you of the many, many romances of our class. There were Jo Alice Horch and Harry Finnefrock, Grace Summerson and Bob Monoski, Inez Marshall and Bob Hillyer, Dorothy Summerson and jack Kepler, Nancy Farwell and Cliff Rhoades, Rose Ann Dayton and Clarence Cowfer, Sylvia Pflug- felder and Kenny Pfaff, Jack Smith and Althea Farwell, Margaret Saltsman and jimmy Cashner, and of course those who couldn't make up their mind. At the beginning of the term we acquired sev- eral new students. They were Pat Hovis, Esther Bressette, Myron Tisdel, Bertha Snyder, and Faith Swartwood. We also lost several students that year. They were Charles Abel, Neil Cashner, Bruce Schenck, jack Pelkey, Ann Rooney, Merle Prebble, Rodger Tenney, Walter Toot, and Bertha Snyder. Well, our Sophomore year is drawing to a close. We are all looking forward to sitting in Study Hall with the Seniors next year. NANCY McGREGOR and INEZ MARSHALL R gn -V' ig s. 4 f Y n. iQ 5 , A I R 4. . X 4 l .,.,..i Qs. I ':. ,,, X ' -P ' S Q 5 .
