Cjfawd Hojo ,ec p Here it is, May 12th, 1970. It has been exactly fifteen years since the Senior class of 54-55 has graduated and the students gone their separate ways. I have just returned to my farm home on the out skirts of Moberly after a trip to California, The doctor had advised me to be away from my three children and husband for a period of three weeks to relieve my nerves. Now that I am back I think I shall always be satisfied after finding out what all my other classmates were doing, On the way to California I pulled into a gas station in Farmers Town, Kansas, A and who should be sitting in front of the gas station, barefoot, with big patches on his coveralls and spitting tobacco in a spittoon at least Z5 feet away, but Jerry Perkins. After talking to him for quite some time .I found out that he and Wanda Longdon were very happily married and had four children, I asked him Where Wanda was at the pre- sent time, and he said, look up above. There she was in the tiniest airplane you ever saw and she was the pilot, a very good one too, as she really knew how to do the tricks. Jerry informed me that Bailey Mangus had joined the navy, gone to Japan, married a Japanese girl and is staying in Japan because he likes it so well. He also told me that Mary E. Goosey was living in Pueblo, Colorado which was right on my way to California so my next stop was the re, Mary and I had a nice talk and she was married to the principal of the largest school in Colorado, She said her sister, Julia Goosey and Bob, now had two children and were living in New York, with Julia acting as a model in an exclusiveestore, I couldn't stay long there so started on my way once again. Well, it happened ---- , I had a blow out and went in the ditch, couldn't get out so went to the closest house and who should answer the door, no one but Wilma Sager, She hadigotten a very good' job and believe me, she sure had the clothes. She hadn't gotten married yet but was wearing the biggest diamond ring on her left hand and 3rd finger you could ever see. She was planning on getting married the next month. I called the tow truck service'and went 'out to my car to wait for theltow truck to come. When I finally saw it the name on the side of the truck was none other than Ellis Chism, I thought I recognized the driver and after looking at him for a long period of time, ask him if his name was by any chance Jim Downing, and sure enough it was, and he was' one of Ellis Chism's assistant, the reason it was so hard to recognize him was that he had a mustache and a beard and was almost bald headed. He finally got my car out of the ditch and got it started for me and the tire changed so I was on my way again. When I got to Salt Lake City, Utah, I decided to go to one of the nicer hotels for a change. The name of it was i'The Colley's Exclusive. Lo and Behold, when I walked in inside Beverly Colley was standing at' the desk and Martha Colley at the soda fountain. They and their husbands had gone together to start a hotel and by now had a fine business They informed me that Jimmie Benton was doing swell in his work selling cars, but was not married as he was not ready to settle down yet, They also told me that Floyd Ross had moved to Nashville, Tennessee and was singing on the Grand Ole Opra every Sat- u1'daY night. When I got to Reno, Nevada I was looking around some and saw Kenneth McCune and Donald Glynn and to my surprise they were hatching together as they could not find any girls good enough for them. When I arrived in California, I bought a news- paper and the headline that was' flashing across all of the newspapers, was about Sherrie Rupp becoming a new and famous movie star, - Just like all of my other classmates that are 'happy in what they are doing, I, fv'IB.3Ti5HS McDaniel arm just as happy being a farmer's wife, and the mother of three I wonderful children.
