Naturally we were all won- dering i.f we would make it through the Senior year. When we finally got settled and accustomed to high school life we elected our conductors for the first year of our train ride. Ellis Chism was chosen president, Beverly Wilson, vice- president, Kenneth McCune treasurer, and Jimmie Benton, secretary. The . passengers which made our bumpy and hard train ride more enjoyable were: Jim Downing, Wanda Longdon, Leroy Rupp, Lois Wiley, Jimmie Benton, Jimmy Rice, Mary Ellen Goosey, Jerry Perkins, Marlene McDaniel, Ronald Nall, Sue Bradley, Martha Hill, Julia Goosey, Charles White, Thelma Atterbury, Bailey Mangus, and last but not least, Sherrie Rupp. Leroy Rupp decided that the train ride was too bumpy so left us and later joined the navy and is now riding the ocean waves. Losi Wiley decided that married life was better, along with Sue Bradley who had the same idea. Jimmy Rice thought he was too smart for the teachers, so decided to see what he could do high up in the air and joined the Air Force. Charles Nhite just left us deciding he would work in a factory. After a nice summer vacation we all boarded the train again as silly Sophomores, We were iready to make another try at our lessons but wanted V to give more time to talking with our schoolmates. Our conductors chosen to take over the train's responsibility for our second year's ride were: Marlene McDaniel, president, Beverly Wilson, vice-president, Jimmie Benton, secretary, and Wanda Longdon, treasurer. Julia and Mary Ellen Goosey transferred to n Sturgeon High School and Donald Glynn transferred to St. Charles. Sonny Ballew left 'us and started working, later joining the Navy. Ronald Nall moved to Kirks- ville, Wilma Sager was the only new passenger to board the Renick Strpeamlined Special, In our Junior year we boarded the train with more confidence as we were getting nearer our Senior year. We elected our conductors as soon as possible, so the train could be on its way. The conductors elected were: Wanda Longdon, president, Marlene McDaniel secretary, and Jimmie Benton, treasurer, Beverly Wilson, vice-president. Julia Goosey and Mary Ellen Goosey, and Donald Glynn decided to join the Renick Streamline Special again. Thelma Atterbury stayed with us. until the week before our train came to the third stop, couldn't wait until it came to a complete stop tho, but jumped into her farmerman's back yard and accepted his wedding band. We took the Seniors of 53-54 to Kansas City on the Junior-Senior trip. Everyone has an enjoyable time. Our Senior year found sixteen members ready to board the train for what we hoped was our last ride. The boys took over in the election of our conductors. Jimmie Benton was elected president, Jim Downing, vice-president, and Kenneth McCune, secretary and treasurer. Floyd Ross decided to board the train with us and Beverly Nilson came aboard withthe new name of Mrs. Edwin Colley, Martha Hill married Charles Colley during the Christmas vacation, but both passengers are still with us. We must say that We have found our years aboard the Renick Streamlined Special, very enjoyable ones. We our To To To tro To I,. I,f I,. I,. I,. ed 1, l I, I, I,. J, I, I, I, I, I. I, 4 V - -

Cjfawd Hojo ,ec p Here it is, May 12th, 1970. It has been exactly fifteen years since the Senior class of 54-55 has graduated and the students gone their separate ways. I have just returned to my farm home on the out skirts of Moberly after a trip to California, The doctor had advised me to be away from my three children and husband for a period of three weeks to relieve my nerves. Now that I am back I think I shall always be satisfied after finding out what all my other classmates were doing, On the way to California I pulled into a gas station in Farmers Town, Kansas, A and who should be sitting in front of the gas station, barefoot, with big patches on his coveralls and spitting tobacco in a spittoon at least Z5 feet away, but Jerry Perkins. After talking to him for quite some time .I found out that he and Wanda Longdon were very happily married and had four children, I asked him Where Wanda was at the pre- sent time, and he said, look up above. There she was in the tiniest airplane you ever saw and she was the pilot, a very good one too, as she really knew how to do the tricks. Jerry informed me that Bailey Mangus had joined the navy, gone to Japan, married a Japanese girl and is staying in Japan because he likes it so well. He also told me that Mary E. Goosey was living in Pueblo, Colorado which was right on my way to California so my next stop was the re, Mary and I had a nice talk and she was married to the principal of the largest school in Colorado, She said her sister, Julia Goosey and Bob, now had two children and were living in New York, with Julia acting as a model in an exclusiveestore, I couldn't stay long there so started on my way once again. Well, it happened ---- , I had a blow out and went in the ditch, couldn't get out so went to the closest house and who should answer the door, no one but Wilma Sager, She hadigotten a very good' job and believe me, she sure had the clothes. She hadn't gotten married yet but was wearing the biggest diamond ring on her left hand and 3rd finger you could ever see. She was planning on getting married the next month. I called the tow truck service'and went 'out to my car to wait for theltow truck to come. When I finally saw it the name on the side of the truck was none other than Ellis Chism, I thought I recognized the driver and after looking at him for a long period of time, ask him if his name was by any chance Jim Downing, and sure enough it was, and he was' one of Ellis Chism's assistant, the reason it was so hard to recognize him was that he had a mustache and a beard and was almost bald headed. He finally got my car out of the ditch and got it started for me and the tire changed so I was on my way again. When I got to Salt Lake City, Utah, I decided to go to one of the nicer hotels for a change. The name of it was i'The Colley's Exclusive. Lo and Behold, when I walked in inside Beverly Colley was standing at' the desk and Martha Colley at the soda fountain. They and their husbands had gone together to start a hotel and by now had a fine business They informed me that Jimmie Benton was doing swell in his work selling cars, but was not married as he was not ready to settle down yet, They also told me that Floyd Ross had moved to Nashville, Tennessee and was singing on the Grand Ole Opra every Sat- u1'daY night. When I got to Reno, Nevada I was looking around some and saw Kenneth McCune and Donald Glynn and to my surprise they were hatching together as they could not find any girls good enough for them. When I arrived in California, I bought a news- paper and the headline that was' flashing across all of the newspapers, was about Sherrie Rupp becoming a new and famous movie star, - Just like all of my other classmates that are 'happy in what they are doing, I, fv'IB.3Ti5HS McDaniel arm just as happy being a farmer's wife, and the mother of three I wonderful children.
