Naturally we were all won- dering i.f we would make it through the Senior year. When we finally got settled and accustomed to high school life we elected our conductors for the first year of our train ride. Ellis Chism was chosen president, Beverly Wilson, vice- president, Kenneth McCune treasurer, and Jimmie Benton, secretary. The . passengers which made our bumpy and hard train ride more enjoyable were: Jim Downing, Wanda Longdon, Leroy Rupp, Lois Wiley, Jimmie Benton, Jimmy Rice, Mary Ellen Goosey, Jerry Perkins, Marlene McDaniel, Ronald Nall, Sue Bradley, Martha Hill, Julia Goosey, Charles White, Thelma Atterbury, Bailey Mangus, and last but not least, Sherrie Rupp. Leroy Rupp decided that the train ride was too bumpy so left us and later joined the navy and is now riding the ocean waves. Losi Wiley decided that married life was better, along with Sue Bradley who had the same idea. Jimmy Rice thought he was too smart for the teachers, so decided to see what he could do high up in the air and joined the Air Force. Charles Nhite just left us deciding he would work in a factory. After a nice summer vacation we all boarded the train again as silly Sophomores, We were iready to make another try at our lessons but wanted V to give more time to talking with our schoolmates. Our conductors chosen to take over the train's responsibility for our second year's ride were: Marlene McDaniel, president, Beverly Wilson, vice-president, Jimmie Benton, secretary, and Wanda Longdon, treasurer. Julia and Mary Ellen Goosey transferred to n Sturgeon High School and Donald Glynn transferred to St. Charles. Sonny Ballew left 'us and started working, later joining the Navy. Ronald Nall moved to Kirks- ville, Wilma Sager was the only new passenger to board the Renick Strpeamlined Special, In our Junior year we boarded the train with more confidence as we were getting nearer our Senior year. We elected our conductors as soon as possible, so the train could be on its way. The conductors elected were: Wanda Longdon, president, Marlene McDaniel secretary, and Jimmie Benton, treasurer, Beverly Wilson, vice-president. Julia Goosey and Mary Ellen Goosey, and Donald Glynn decided to join the Renick Streamline Special again. Thelma Atterbury stayed with us. until the week before our train came to the third stop, couldn't wait until it came to a complete stop tho, but jumped into her farmerman's back yard and accepted his wedding band. We took the Seniors of 53-54 to Kansas City on the Junior-Senior trip. Everyone has an enjoyable time. Our Senior year found sixteen members ready to board the train for what we hoped was our last ride. The boys took over in the election of our conductors. Jimmie Benton was elected president, Jim Downing, vice-president, and Kenneth McCune, secretary and treasurer. Floyd Ross decided to board the train with us and Beverly Nilson came aboard withthe new name of Mrs. Edwin Colley, Martha Hill married Charles Colley during the Christmas vacation, but both passengers are still with us.
