HUNDRED AND SIXTY Lest we forget, we have entered the halls of Renan High School inspired by the strength, vigor and freshness of youth, to create traditions, and to grow mentally and spiritually. Also, in the con¬ templation of the past, we may look through the se pages of our true personalities as they are disclosed to you in this book. Confidently we face tomorrow, for today we are strengthened by knowledge, trained for leader¬ ship, and enriched by companionship. Through the cooperate efforts of church, school and home we have learned the essence of adult life-independence and freedom in the true sense. As we strive a- long the years we face the truth and independence when we learn to respect the right of others, the responsibility, and to be tolerant of Gods creatures. Lest We Forget, our departures are symbolic of our entrances, and our achievements made this year. Now, as its representatives, we, the annual staff, present the students ' annual--The Rambler. Golden memorie s ! Yes, itis for Carolyn, Coryn, and Melvin who are seniors this year. What happy memories picture of Sue, Melvin, Mr. Parcher ' s house, Seventeen ! are called to mind by this and Nancy standing before in our senior class play, 4 The CanCan Dancer s were one of the highlights at the Junior-Senior Prom. ATMOSPHERE OF THE Throughout our high school careers, we have found that not only a river of school spirit flows through Renan High, but also a strong current of class spirit and a radiant atmosphere is prevalent. Susan, Garner, John and Faye are taking advice from Mrs. Short on what are the most important dates to study for exams. 6 Just anothe r point to victory as Gloria aims for the Some fine hurling is expected from these boys, goal. This represents the physical side of our well- rounded student, who must have an outlet for pent-up energies. There have been victories, and there have been defeats. Always, however, we have had the joy and satisfaction of knowing that we played the game in a sportsmanlike manner. COMBINED WITH THE COMPETATIVE SHOUTS OF WE CAN RECALL THESE FOND MEMOR To temper work with play is im¬ perative. We must learn to live life in leisure moments, to balance our lives with the proper blend of social activity. Man knows himself by un¬ derstanding others, for the proper study of mankind is man . By this process life is fulfilled and enriched. At the annual PTA Bazaar the following kings and queens were crowned according to the popularity contest. Betty Hutcherson and Mike Wil¬ son as Primary King and Queen; Sheilia Lea, Baby Contest Winner; David Hutcherson and Jo Ann Moorefield. Elementary King and Queen; Linda Moon and Sayford Moon as High School King and Queen . Here Bobby Shelton and Gerald Edwards are ready to leave for the train station to go to Kansas City, Missouri to the National Chorus Convention and National FFA Convention. Gerald is also state Beta president. 8 These FFA-FHA members work hastily in preparation of their annual FFA-FHA Banquet and Prom. Gerald Edwards, State Beta President, spoke at the Beta assembly, using as his topic Honesty . Class editors Garner Dillard and Alma Robertson work busily on the class layout envelopes to meet deadline dates. 9 We Seek To Honor .... A teacher who has greatly contributed to the welfare and high standing of Renan High School; for his endless patience and interest toward those whom he instructs; for his co¬ operation with fellow-instructors.
