A' 'Li-,y.-1: 1'2?A, .r ,' 4' U ' ' , - x I . 4 - .L ,.'Jf7. - ' 'u- ' Q' R H S CALENDAR We began our school year on September 4 which was reglstratxon day Regular classes began on the frfth Everythmg was cjulet until the flfteenth when we played our frrst home football game agamst Hanna On the twenty second we played hos to the Lyman Eagles The rest of the month passed un eventfully as did the first part of October On the twelfth howewer we had the frrst Natronal School Assembly of the year Steeplejack and 111 Tnme passed untll the twentreth when the football team journeyed to Hanna The next blg event was the successful card party sponsored by the journalism class on October 24th to ralse money for the annual October 27th found Relrance s representatives to the journalism conference oy DuPont Ronnne Wrlson Robert Burns and Florence Delgado on the1r way to Laramle Nos cmber got off to a bang up start on the slxth when Albert Wllcox srngmg star of the Natronal School Assemblies appeared before the student body The nmth was the junxors blg day the day of the jumor play Professor How Could You? Band members enjoyed a trrp to ackson on the seven teenth for the musrc festnal Everyone was now eagerly antrclpatrng the twenty th1rd and the long awarted Thanksgrvxng vacatron Wxth thus November became just another memory The frrst of December was a great day for the semors for rt was on this day that they gave their Senror Hop wrth Stardust as nts theme The Prrates were hosts at the frrst basketball game of the year agamst Mountain Vrew on December 8 Therr next games were also played on thenr home court agamst Afton on December 15 and Hanna on the srxteenth Durrng Chrrstmas xacatxon whrch began on the twenty second the Pirates went to Hanna on December 28 and were guests of Rawllns on the twenty n1nth anuary was uneventful untnl the sxxth when the Pxrates played jackson at jackson On the erghth we were treated to another Natlonal School Assem bly staged thxs tnme by a dance team the Garclas The Rawllns Outlaws were our guests on anuary 11 as were Green Rrver Wolves on the thrrteenth On the nmeteenth and twentieth rt was the Prrates turn to be guests when they traveled to Afton and Kemmerer Our next games also saw the team on the road thrs tame to Evanston and Mountam Vrew on january 26 and 27 anuary 30 found the team matchxng wrts and brawn agamst the mnghty Trgers Our agrle qumtet proved too much for the Bengals and they went home with a 39 37 defeat Es eryone was ln high splrlts when February frrst rolled around for that was the date that the journ alrsm class and the Home Ec grrls sponsored therr gala carnnal On February th1rd the Pirates suffered a defeat at the hands of the Supernor Dragons on the Dragon court The Pxrates next engagement was scheduled for February 6 when they played Lyman at Reliance On February 10 the Prrates took a heartbreakmg defeat at the hands of a vengeful Bengal team playlng at Rock Spnngs February 12th was the next mterestmg date on the calendar when another National School Assembly Wheelers Melo Marrmbas was presented The week end of February 16 and 17 found the Pirates playmg host to the Exanston Red Deuls and the Kemmerer Rangers The Superior Dragons and the Lyman Eagles were met rn two games on lebruary 26 and 27 February 26th presented an opportumty to hear the concertrers entertamers from the National School Assemblies Pnrate cagers traxeled to Green Rn er on the twenty exghth to challenge the Mxghty Wolves March got off to a good start wrth the jumor hxgh team traxellng to Ex anston the second and th1rd for the tournament The Prrates were busy on the thrrd also when they were hosts to the aclcson Broncs The next event of rmportance was the d1str1ct tourna ment held 1n Green Rxver on March 8 9 and 10 After many rehearsals the Senlor Operetta Sun bonnet Grrl appeared Begrnnrng on March 28 the students of R H S enjoyed a fue day sprxng sacatron durmg wh1ch many fans went to Laramle to the state basketball tournament On Aprrl 2 the Natronal School Assembhes pre sented an educatronal program on scrence The F H A gurls went to Laramre on Aprnl 5 and 6 for the state meetmg The unlor H1gh had a bug day on the tenth when they presented therr operetta Paints and Patches Friday and Saturday Aprll 13 and 14 gave some band members an opportumty to attend the Green Rrver rnter school concert Aprrl 27th was the day the senlors presented therr last stage pro ductxon a thrlllmg mystery The frrst event of the last month of school was the Kemmerer musxc festrval held on May 3 and 4 On May 11th the junlors realized a llfe long dream when amrd lovely decoratlons and dreamy musrc they presented the 1951 unror Prom May 18th was the end for the senlors for this was the day that they were offlcnally granted a pardon The week followmg however was both a busy one and a memorable one for them The week started on the twentreth wrth Baccalaureate May 22nd was senlor sneak day and the twenty th1rd was one of the brggest days m therr lrves Commencement Then came goodby to R H S the last day of school May 25 Y 3 - .
