Designed Slfluf HEX by Erika Gresse and Charles Ringling, it may be used on future letterheads, school jackets and sweaters and similar articles. 1,49 X ln search of a different cover idea for this year's Senior Edition, several staff members suggested a school seal, which could also be used on other articles representative of Reitz. Permission was granted by school authorities, and the seal was drawn. During the March l5 meeting of the Student Council, it was officially adopted. The oak leaf symbolizes strength-strength of mind and character needed to be successful in any phase of learning. The open book represents knowledge, which is acquired after years of study. Finally, the torch symbolizes the light of learning, ever burning in this free land of ours. The morning barrage of returned books . . . napping on duty and per- sonal lunchline passes . . . the end of another day . . . the long and the short of it . . . hobos deluxe-king and queen . . . a nickel and two fa- miliar blue pencils . . . bundles for the needy.
