Standing in front of the school are members of the Quill and Scroll, national honor society for journalists. Left to right in the first row are the officers, Billie Jo Myers, treasurer, Betty Nordhausen, secretary, Ruth Helfrich, vice-president, and Delores Bergdolt, president. The second row is composed of Carolyn Everly, Gayle Slifer, Judy Trenton, Margaret Marynell and Carol Yokel, Mary Klipsch, Sue Kirkpatrick, Joyce Hartford, Nancy Heinlin, Ruth Kluge and Diane Kirkpatrick are in the third row. Standing in the last row are Katy Dannenberg, Nancy Sander, Donna Brooks, Ottie Droste, Nanna Hart and Paula Sherrod. All the world's a stage for these Thespians as they posed for the birdie. In the first row from left to right were Charles Myers, Denis Brown, Billie Myers and Leo Wentzel, officers of the Reitz organization. ln the second row were Ramona Clark, Louise Bellman, Carol Hudson, Susie Scraper and Margaret Marynell, Mary Klipsch, Clara Cooper, June Winternheimer, Nancy Heinlin, Nanna Hart and Carol Yokel were in the third row. ln the fourth row were Carla Thornton, Don Doxey, Jere Richardson, Rosalee Young and Suzanne Thompson. Charles Epperson, David Riggs, Bill Felker, Jane Ann Hermann and Lowell Farrar were in the last row. Thirteen active members of the National Art Honor society are Linda Bloemen, Ericka Gresse, Ruth Grunow and Donna Fleming in the first row. Standing in the second row are Judy Deer, Frankie Costello, Rosie Young and Darlene Dick. Joyce Hittner, Marlene Weber, Eddie Lipking, Charles Freels and Mike Barker are in the last row.

Vera Wilson, Janet Wilson, Lily Strupp, Delores Reasor, Elizabeth Neuber and Notomi Minton are in the second row, The third row: Susan Vogel, Charlotte Wetzel, Louise Junkin, Peggy Madden, William Akin, Don Oschner and Linda Jackson. In the fourth row are Sharon Grayson, Doris Shelton, Sandra Winternheimer, Garland Stark, Richard Henze and Rich- ard Folz. Evelyn Merritt, Sherry Deming, Wanda Elder, Darlene Deweese, Sara Copeland, Jerry Rigsby and Charles Ligon are in the fifth row. Cleone Hayes, David Thompson, Lowell Volk- man, Steve Heeger, Carlton Smith and Danny Bumt- stand in the last row. Junior' members of the National Junior Honor society were Pauline Burgdorf, Joan Willman, Marsha Kroener, Donna Flem- ing, Phyllis Harrison, Mike Herrell, Joan Reininga,. Maxine Eckerty, Peggy Small and Neil McCutchan in the first row. In the second row were Adelia Jeffries, Shirley Pyle, Donna Higdon, Shirley Bateman, Ruth Grunow, Carolyn Russell, Frankie Costello, Dorothy Scott, Janice Couts and Sara Wilson. Carole Schmitt, Sandra Heiman, Nancy Danner, Patsy McNeely, Mary Lou Mahrenholz, Betty Kerney, Dixie Rapp, JoAnn Besaw, Susan Almon, Peggy Simpson, Eloise Boeke and Hilda Winstead com- posed the third row. Standing in the fourth row were Gayle Cates, Jane Ann Hermann, Mary Jo Niethammer, Freda Wil- liamson, Deanna Samples, Edward Lipking, Robert Fulton, Joyce Clayman, Genell Kercher and Janice West. ln the fifth row were Sharon Hill, JoAnn Powell, Margie Kahre, Judy Hoffher, Marlene Weber, Katy Niethammer, Buddy Branson, Allen Happe and Janice lmel. Joyce Hittner, Emile Klueg, Wanda Miller, Alberta Gresham and Rita Tevault composed the sixth row. ln the seventh row were Marlene Muth, Deanna Wesselman, Con- nie Brammer, Jere Richardson, Lance Long, Butch Fisher, Bob Webb, Reuben Williams, Judy Klotz and James Boyd. Darold Long, Taylor Altheide, Lonnie Albin, Charles Myers, Ronald Schwartz and Lloydene Morris were in the eighth row. ln the last row were James Geiser, Tom Schmidt, David Arvin, Edward Huff, Bill Thurneck, Kendall Krause, Lee Riggs, Gerald Ludwig, Herman Kraemer, John Steinkamp, George David, Joe Slaton and Howard Sites. 24 Nu Carol Brown, David Fellwock, Gary Moore and Kathryn Dan- nenberg were officers of the National Honor society for 1954- 55. Behind them are Susan Craig, Gayle Slifer, Judy Trenton, June Winternheimer, Carol Hudson, Ruth Ahrens, Carol Yokel and Diane Kirkpatrick. Standing in the third row are William Felker, Alan Sturm, Carla Thornton, Betty Nordhausen, Wilma Eckerty, Mary Klipsch, Barbara Jones and Susan Kirkpatrick. In the fourth row are Gearlene Plump, Norma Klueg, Patric Bryan, David Riggs, Billie Jo Myers, Erika Gresse, Margaret Hettenbach, Judith Korff and Linda Harmon. Six hilltoppers won divisional honors in the annual Industrial Arts show sponsored by the Foreman's club. The winners, standing left to right, are Bob Wessel, Mickey Owen, Jack Kissinger and Jim Boyd. David Huff is seated. Bob and Jim took first in their divisions of drawing and wood, respectively. Reuben Williams was not present for the picture. Recognized for their outstanding service to Reitz, Louise Bellman received one of the annual P.T.A. service awards, Fred Walton won the Student Council Citizenship award and David Riggs qualified for the other P.T.A. honor. 26 Mell Welborn was awarded the Mary Louise Mueller Social Studies award for l955.
