As a part of the annual Pan American Day celebration, Carol Combs Cseated in frontl reigned as Miss United States, Shirley Dauble, Miss Pan America, and Sharon Bebout, Miss.Mexico. Behind them are the attendants who represented the Pan American Republics. They are Marsha Kroener, Sandra Dunham, Joyce Benthall, Darlene Schillinger, Linda Barton, Sandra Snurpus, Delores Bergdolt, Nancy Altheide, Joyce Hartford, Mary Schoonmaker, Greta Seegmueller, Suzanne Thompson, Ruth Helfrich, Gayle Kaeuper, Joan Wettergreen, Shirley McCarter, Margaret Marynell, Carolyn Russell and Jean Schmitt. Shirley Dauble reigned as Miss Pan America in the annual program produced by the Span- ish students of Miss Helen Wortman and Mrs. Helen Snip- per. Page 40

lda Mary McCut'chan received the Mary Louise Mueller Social Studies Award this year. Peggy Conaway received the Na- tional Office Managers Association award. Nancy Altheide was second place winner. Tommy Greenberg, Shirley Dauble and Sharon Dunham were the Kiwanis Arion Award winners for band, choir and orchestra this year. Jerry Compton received the Na- tional Association of Cost Accountants award. Majorettes Barbara Simpson, Jean Schmitt and Sharon Saltz- man were part of the line which made an arch under which Doris Keck Day walked on her way to be crowned as Reitz's l953 football queen at the homecoming game.
