Page 56 Reitz's rough and ready freshman squad came through wiht an excellent season, losing only one of six city duels. Coach James Barnett's boys went out to meet the Mater Dei Wildcats with determination, and came out with a I4-7 vic- tory. ln the next game, the frosh squad pushed the Central greenies over defeat's bluff by a scor of 2l-7. The Panther gridmen broke a halftime tie, and went ahead to score two more touchdowns. Bosse's freshman team fell under the rolling wheel of vic- tory the young Panthers were pushing. They held Bosse score- less, beating the little Bulldogs 6-O. They also downed Me- morial and Mater Dei, for the second time, before they felt defeat. As a result, they tied for the city crown. Cub Coach Wayne Weller's little grid-team ended the season in second place in the Evansville race. The only team to give the young ones defeat was the Central Bear Cubs, who downed them twice. They placed second by defeating the Bosse Bulldogs twice, once on their own field and once on the home gridiron. Coach Allen Horn's reserve boys played a tough schedule this year ago. Horn's pigskin packers won four games and lost two. The reserves scraped by the Mater Dei Wildcats and the Bosse Bulldogs by one touchdown each time, whipping Mater Dei l4-7 and Bosse 6-O. Joanne Schmitt answered the phone many times this year to help line up the activities of the athletic tearns. Phyliss Whitten, the principal's secretary, and Nancy Tevault, attendance office secretary lcenterl, entertained their assistants at a tea, Two of the office helpers are shown: Jean Laubscher lleftl and Peggy Conaway.
