The first big event of the year was the freshmen initiation, with a style show, scavenger hunt, and other games. Two girls from our class-Phyllis Ohrt and Rachael Johnson--were high school cheerleaders for either football or basketball. The members of our class took an active part in all the school activities. Many of the boys and girls were members of F. F. A. and F. H. A. A few of our members were on the football and basketball teams. Several were reporters for The Ram Blurr and staff members for The Smar. Many of the students of our class were members of the Pep Club and participated in the vocal and instrumental music groups. Some of our members were also interested in dramatics, taking part in the one-act plays. For the school carnival, the class managed two booths---the girls the foot- ball throw and the boys a bottle throw. Since the boys made more money at their booth, the girls paid all the expenses for a roller skating party at Waterloo on January 18. Vergina Ackerman was candidate for Homecoming queen from our class. Carol Cramer, Rachael Johnson, and Gary Karkosh were members of the school swing band. At Christmas time our class decorated Miss Strachan's roomg we won third prize for our decorations.
