The band attended the Waterloo Band Jubilee and the Cedar Rapids Band Fes- tival. This was the year Elizabeth Snyder was crowned queen. Some of our class members served at the annual Junior-Senior banquet. We began our Junior year with no new members. Our class officers were: President, Marian Bicketg Vice-President, Jim Lewisg Secretary, Neva Ackerman, Treasurer, Barbara SchellinggStudent Council,Janice Paulsen and Allan Wilkinsong Sponsors, Miss Staveley and Mr. Bowman. Our football team won the North Iowa Cedar League Conference again. Several boys from our class played on the team this year. One of the projects for this year was an all school carnival which added 81371.78 to the unified treasury. A 60-member all girls' pep club was organized during our Junior year. Our uniforms were orange blouses and black jumpers with matching mittens, hats, and anklets. For the first time in the school history a formal co munity prom was held in the high school gym following the Junior-Senior banquet. Around 500 people danced to the music of Jimmy White and his orchestra. The theme for the banquet and prom was 'Luxury Liner.' We entered the last year of our high school days on August 28, 1950. Our class officers were: President, Jim Lewis, Vice-President, Dale Larseng Secre- tary-Treasurer, Lee Petersen, Student Council, Larry Trepp and Janice Paulsen, Sponsors, Miss Staveley and Mr. Manning. Most of the boys were on the football team which had a season's record of four wins, four losses, and one tied game. We had our three-day Homecoming celebration on October 26 27, and 28. Our candidate for queen was Ramona Halupnick. Features of Homecoming were the fire- men's show, pep rally and bonfire, football game with LaPorte City which we won, and the Homecoming dance with the teachers' floor show at intermission. We held our carnival-November 10 and ll. The seniors sponsored an auction of teachers' services. This special feature was well enjoyed by all. E d We had our graduation pictures taken November 21 at the Troy-Mack Studio in 1 ora. The seniors decorated the steno and typing rooms for Christmas and received second prize. At the time our annual went to press our school year was only half over.
