Student Council Seated: Larry Trepp Mr. Tripp, Janice Paulsen. Standing: Mike Owen, Cary Karkosh, Bob Dutton, Margaret Strohbehn, Clara Lou Frei, Donn Lorenzen, Lois Arnold. The Student Council members are elected by the votes of each high school class. The senior class is entitled to three members and each of the other high school classes to two members, but, since the senior class had a small membership this year, they were entitled to only two members and one member-at-large was chosen from the entire high school assembly. Those chosen by the various classes to re resent them on the Student Council were Janice Paulsen and Allan Wilkinson Eirst semesterl,Larry Trepp Csecond semesterl, SeniorsgBob Dutton and Margaret Strohbehn, Juniors, Gary Karkosh and Clara Lou Frei, Sophomoresgand Mike Owen and Lois Arnold,Fresh- men. Donn Lorenzen was chosen as the member-at-large. Allan Wilkinson served as President of the Student Council during the first semester, Larry Trepp was President during the second semester. Other officers elected were: Vice-President, Donn Lorenzen and Secretary, Janice Paulsen. Mr. Tripp was faculty adviser for the Student Council. The Student Council members were chairman of the various committees which planned the Homecoming activities for October 26, 27, and 28. They sponsored the noon movie program. They assisted with the first College- Career Day to be held at Reinbeck on April A for the juniors and seniors of surrounding schools. During the year they also completed the writing of the Constitution for their organization. The Student Council members attended the State Convention heldzm Grin- nell last fallg they also attended a meeting at Grundy Center of Student Council members of all schools in the North Iowa Cedar League.
