Each person who made a purchase in a Reinbeck store was given miopportunity to vote for the candidate of his choice The four candidates chosen were Ramona Halupnick, seniorg Dar- lene Redfearn, junior, Vergina Ackerman, sophomoreg Freida Harms freshmen. bn Thursday night, October 26 a parade led by the band, followed by cheerleaders, pep club members, football players, queen candidates, and cars pro- ceeded from the school house to Main Street where several yells were given.Then the parade con- tinued to the athletic field to the huge bon fire. After some yells and music by the band, the queen candidates were introduced. The pep rally was followed by the'Firemen's Show' in the auditorium. Friday night, October 27, the Reinbeck Rams defeated the LaPorte City Rams by the score of 26-19 h the Homecoming foot- ball game. At the halves of the game,the Homecoming queen, Dar- lene Redfearn, was crowned by the president of the student council, Allan Wilkinson. Slim's Melody Mixers fur- nished the music for the Home- coming dance on Saturday night. The theme of the dance was 'Time Marches On,' and the gym was decorated with rockets, meteors,comets, flying saucers and stars. The faculty presenmd a floor show at intermission.

Second Row: Lois Arnold, Janet Dewolf, Janice Owen, Arlene Sindt, Nancy Arnold, Cynthia Staker, Kenneth Beck,Everett Wrage, Kay Simonsen Gary Smith, Danny Robertson, Ruth Ann Mulder, Judy Robinson, Elinor Linder, Darlene Redfearn, Bradley Mertens. This year a new plan for student participation in the school lunch pro- gram was inaugurated by Mr. Manning. Each room of the school appointed a food council representative,and these students met with Mr. Manning to talk over the cafeteria menu complaints and suggestions. These student represen- tatives presented several fine suggestions, and they, in turn, carried back the ideas and suggestions to their classmates. The council also tried to get the students to try new foods and discouraged waste of food.
