First Row: Charles Brandhorst, Wally Larsen, Larry Trepp, Joe Murphy, Don Lewis, Jerry Ehrig, Bill Frei, Jim Lewis. The lQ49-50 basket!all season started off with n banf at Teachers Hiih with the forth Teva Cedar You we f2L'oroe. The laws were fitted arainst Trner and won 20-13. There were four returning lettermen from last year's team ----- Bill Frei Joe Murphy, Larry Trepp,and Jim Lewis. The other three that saw action in about all names were Chuck Brandhorst, Jerry Bhrig, and Donn Lorenzen. Joe Murphy was elected captain by the members of the team. The season's record was lk names won and 7 lost. The Rams won the Grundy County Championship by defeating Beaman a mere two points. They advanced to the district tournament by defeating Grundy in the sectional.Vinton stopped the Rams in the first fame of the district tournament which was held at Uaterloo.The Rams tied for second place with Grundy in the North Iowa Cedar League Conference.
