That record should make the Tigers the best team in Reidsville High School history, but it doesn't tell nearly all of the '84 story. At times they played brilliantly. They shocked a good Claxton Team, then Southeast Bulloch. They raced past undefeated Glennvilie for the subregion championship, and fans and coaches began to wonder just how good this team might be. At other times they played much less than brilliant. Against Vidalia. they were Vidalia's most effective weapon. At Metter the fans were left brealthless and the coaches had chest pains as the Tigers squeaked out with an overtime victor)’. They had to come from behind in the second half to defeat Bryan County in the final regular season game. Maybe they were at their best in the last 2 games of the season. The defense typified Tiger determination as it held Montgomery County out of the endzone 4 times from inside the 3 yardline. That goalline stand won the region championship. They simply did not play well enough to win the area championship game, but the effort and determination was there. A sophomore offensive tackle was so sick he could hardly stand, yet he refused to leave the game even when it was apparent that we would not win. There was the senior tailback with a knee so sore he could not walk without limping, yet he ran the football with dogged determination and came so close to the touchdown that have mean t victory. That was the way the Tigers played during the '84 season, asking no quarter and giving none. This team will have to be remembered as the best team in Reidsville High School history. The 1984 3A region champions deserve no less. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!! Mr. Danny Scott. Mr. Daryl Lewis, Mr. Buddy McCall. Mr. Terry Jones. Mr Ronnie McCall. Mr. Donald Akins. Mr. James Brown. Mrs. Lisa Trim, and Mr Phillip Daughtery. These coaches have devoted their time and efforts to making the 1984-85 season a memorable one. We realize that without these coaches there would not be a football, basketball, track, baseball, or tennis activity to attend. Once again thanks for your efforts; they are appreciated. Sincerely. R.H.S. Student Body The Tiger Staff . . . When I iat down and began to think back about the many responsibilities of being the editor of an annual. I asked myself Aren't you glad it's over?”, am . . . But I wouldn't have missed these times for anything. I want the Tiger Staff to know it's been a great pleasure working with every one through the good and bad times. I'd like to extend a special thanks to the dedicated few. You know who you are and I'm glad you let me share a small part of myself with an important part of you. I also want to thank Mrs. Thompson for helping me through the rough times. Everyone should know that if Mrs. Thompson hadn't decided to be the Advisor of the Annual there would not have been one. I'll never forget the cherished expression. Don't Panic . Those words helped me a lot during the rough times. Believe me. those words were highly appreciated. I also want to thank Mr. Ronnie McCall for his patience and the time he spend taking pictures and helping the staff. Futhermore, I want to thank a teacher who is not at R.H.S. anymore. Mrs. Deborah Wise. Three years ago Mrs. Wise helped me realize that being on the annual staff was not going to be easy, but she was a great help. Teachers like these are the ones who makes school life enjoyable and times memorable. Thanks to the Student body for your support and patience. I hope the R .H.S. Body realizes that a lot of hours of hard work and love went into the Annu- al. I hope we have been able to catch a small memory that was important to you in your High School years. Best Wishes’ I truly loved every minute of being and I'd do it all again. Keep reaching lor the stars! Melinda Leigh Hicks Editor-in-Chief 148 9
