Its seats were rapidly filling with the throngs who wanted to have a part in the reunion of the class of 1957. A fine class, remarked gray-haired Mr. McKinney. As fine a class as the school ever sent out. I was a member of the School Board when they graduated and we were certainly proud of them, Are most of the members here? asked Dr. Moricle. I'mtoldthey are expecting a large group today. Yes, a very large group came, replied Mr. McKinney. That's Eula Smith over there. She just came in from a big dress convention in Chicago. They're expecting a number of the old class to come on the next train. The line was forming for the procession, Nelson Young, president of the Student Council when this class graduated, stood and began to speak above the cheers from the people who had gathered for this gay reunion: Ladies andgentlemen, schoolmates of many happy days, and friends of the bygone years, I see before me many new faces, but I also behold many faces that were dear to this class ten years ago. Friends, you saw us go forth upon that mem- orable occasion bearing the awards of com- mencement. We have returned bearing the tro- phies laden with honors for the best school a class ever left, Reidsville High School. Before we proceed with the address of the occasion, I wish to present the members ofthe Class of 1957. We have a group of fine nurses represented here today, included are Arlene Stanley, Willie Sparks, Gretchen Watlington, Sandra Saunders, Peggy Meeks, Martha Bugher, Pat Faulkner, Dorothy Dill,Ella R. Lively, and Yvonne Brame. Then he re are the excellent secretaries that have come fromthis honored class. We are really proud to see the wonderful teachers that our class gave to the Reidsville School system. Teaching now in the high school are Nelda Joyce, Malinda McKinney, Kay Wash- burn, and Sarah Davis. The elementary schools received Shirley Thompson, Judith Wall, Camille Stone, and Shelby Strickla.nd. We are really glad to hear that Roger Carter became a millionaire by his gold and emerald prospecting in the western part of North Caro- lina.
