Wifh fhe excepfion of learning readin', wrifin', and a bif of 'rifhmefic, we sfarfed some of fhe mosf precious friendships which will lasf fhrough life. Our leaders were: Leonard Duncan, President Wal- fer Ausfin, Vice President Meredifh Carnahan, Secrefary, Billy Esfes, Treasurer, and Norma Wilson. Reporfer. We were sponsored by Mrs. Joiner. Affer an enjoyable Freshman year and a vacafion, we enfered our Sophomore year. gradually growing in knowledge. This year our sponsors were Mrs. Brooks and Mr. Goheen. Our officers were: Norma Wilson, President Joyce Wilkerson, Vice President Billy Esfes, Secrefary-Treasurer, and Red- ean Rushing, Reporfer. ln looking back af our achievemenfs we find fhose fhaf only a Jolly Junior Class could accom- plish. Wifh fhe aid of our sponsors, Mrs. Thursfen and Mrs. Samples, we enferfained fhe Senior Class wifh fhe fradifional Junior-Senior banquet We selecfed for our leaders fhis year, Billy Esfes, Presi- dent Redean Rushing, Vice President Alice Ahlemann, Secrefary, Walfer Ausfin, Treasurer. Louise Ouerfermous. Reporfer. Anofher affracfion of fhis year was our Junior play, Hillbilly Courfship. Finally came our dear, ole Senior year, filled wifh dignify and imporfance. We elecfed for our class officers, Leon Vancil, President Redean Parsons, Vice President Alice Ahlemann, Secrefary, Peggy Rifchie, Treasurer, and Joan Tucker, Reporfer. We had fwo wonderful sponsors, Mrs. Thursfen and Mr. Paul. This year we had fhe fhrill of receiving our class rings, affending fhe Junior-Senior ban- quet and presenfing fhe Senior play. Since Freshman days, we have faken an acfive parf in fhe Glee Club, Befa Club. F. H. A.. and F. F. A. Alice Alhemann, Senior candidafe, was crowned F. F. A. Queen for l952-I953 af fhe an- nual F. F. A. Fesfival. Our years af Reidland have been filled wifh work and sorrow, mixed wifh much pleasure and hap- piness. When we leave Reidland, we will be missed for a while, buf soon we will be forgoffen. Ofhers will 'rake our places. Wifhouf fhe help of our wonderful feachers and parenfs we would never have reached our high school goals. We hope fhe Class of i954 will be even more successful fhan we of '53 have been.
